Summary: |
Under the supervision of the Director of the Parks Department, this senior management position provides programming and event planning support to the Department of Parks, including oversight and management of associated staff and handles a wide variety of issues by serving as the manager responsible for initiating and executing various work assignments. The Deputy Director-Recreation manages/oversees staff members aligned with the Parks Department’s programming, event planning, facility and concession management related to the assets noted above (i.e. Pools, Shelters, Fields, Courts, Ski Slopes, Snow Tubing, Ice Rinks, Golf Courses, etc.), and may assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the director. This position oversees the efficient use of resources, using heavy problem solving and communication/organizational/technological employee and labor relations skills.
