Tom Duerr was elected to Allegheny County Council in November of 2019. A lifelong resident of Bethel Park, Tom graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2013 and then attended Penn State University, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation at the Smeal College of Business and minoring in Film Studies.

Since coming back to the region, he has led voter outreach efforts during electoral wins in the last three election cycles in Washington, Greene, Beaver and Allegheny Counties. During that time, Tom spoke to thousands of voters spread across Southwestern PA while working with the Hillary Clinton, Conor Lamb, Pam Iovino and Anna Batista campaigns. Talking with these constituents and working with these candidates, Tom gained tremendous insight into not just how to be an effective candidate and elected official, but also a better understanding of the issues facing the people in the region.

In addition to serving the people of District 5 on County Council, he currently works as a political campaign consultant in Southwest PA.
