$83,500-$85,501.73 per year

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance operations and general construction, or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
- A registered Architectural License is required at the time of application.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Capital Projects, this position manages construction projects from design through construction and close out. The incumbent also develops project scope, budgets, and statements and coordinates the activities of the design team, including architects, engineers and consultants throughout the design process. Projects include new construction, renovation of existing spaces and major maintenance of existing building and County infrastructure. Unit assignment may vary by season. Attendance of evening meetings outside the typical work week is periodically required.
Overview:
Duties:
- Assists with contract preparation and project management.
- Evaluates project sites for recommended improvements.
- Inspects worksites where outside parties (utilities, contractors etc.) have received permission to perform work on County property.
- Responds to public requests for information and/or action.
- Inspects construction to ensure work is completed in accordance with specifications and plans.
- Maintains project schedules on a weekly basis, reporting any potential issues to management.
- Communicates and provides reports and presentations outlining the project status to management.
- Leads the development of project scope of work, budget and timeline and ensures that the design and construction teams are meeting the stated objectives.
- Introduces and executes new ideas and methods to manage projects more efficiently.
- Monitors market and industry trends to ensure new methods of executing work are investigated and implemented within the department.
- Calculates material quantities for bidding purposes.
- Provides oversight for the execution of assigned projects.
- Conducts meetings to review project status and develop punch lists.
- Reviews and approves design professional and construction contractor’s applications for payment.
- Performs other related duties as required/requested.

Residency:
Allegheny County within 1 year.
