Salary: $21.218- $23.4112 commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Address Management Administrator, the GIS Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of geographic data and related databases for the enterprise address management system. This role is responsible for the ongoing development, support, and maintenance of the enterprise address management database which includes researching address points, centerlines, and landmarks for any address-related entities in Allegheny County. Incumbent also analyzes and updates additional address-based databases for other County departments as needed.

Duties:

  • Analyzes and updates existing address data and verifies accuracy.
  • Ensures that data entered into the system is accurate and meets standards.
  • Collaborates with other county departments to analyze data including addresses and assists with data updates.
  • Reviews subdivision plans and building permits.
  • Obtains new addresses and removes old addresses.
  • Works with municipalities and other outside agencies including the United States Postal Service (USPS) to verify, review, and update addresses.
  • Creates and maintains metadata documentation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Addressing Standards and Concepts.
  • County Assessment Systems.

Skill in:

  • ESRI ArcGIS products.
  • Microsoft Office products.
  • SQL Database.

  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  • Multi-task efficiently.
  • Produce highly organized and detailed work products.

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
