Minimum Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent AND three (3) years of experience in occupancy management in a nursing home or other related health care facility.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field is preferred.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Admission Supervisor is the lead census development and occupancy management resource tasked with achieving financial goals of the facility while also maintaining compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations, and established facility policies and procedures.
Overview:
Duties:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the overall operation of the Admissions department, as well as its programs and activities, to develop census goals while also maintaining compliance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
- Evaluates and subsequently adjusts admission practices as needed based on reaching the desired occupancy.
- Ensures there is an open and collaborative relationship between the business office and the admissions office, both working toward shared facility goals for occupancy and collections.
- Confirms referrals are recorded and processed in a timely manner for a decision with appropriate follow-up communication to the referring entity for a decision; ensures referrals are processed to include a financial evaluation of the potential resident’s payment.
- Assures residents are admitted, transferred, and discharged from the facility software daily and accurately.
- Certifies that resident pay status changes are accurately recorded on the facility’s internal daily census communication tool.
- Ensures admission paperwork is completed and filed according to facility policy; confirms resident pay status is accurately recorded in the resident’s record at time of admission.
- Informs the Administrator of obstacles or barriers to admitting residents and provides solutions to such obstacles and barriers.
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly census analysis reports for use by the Administrator in the facility's financial planning process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern long-term care.
- Medicare, Medical Assistance, HMOs, and third-party insurance.
- Customer Relationship Software (CRM)
- Nursing and Medicaid practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines of long-term care.
- Payment entities that require prior authorization for payment.
Skill in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Ability to:
- Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the admissions policy of the Kane Community Living Centers.
- Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and work effectively with applicants, residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within a long-term care facility.
- Always know which payment entities require prior authorization for payment and ensure prior authorization is obtained when required.
- Demonstrate interpersonal relationship skills by developing and maintaining trust with personnel within the department and communicate clear expectations to staff.
- Speak effectively in private and public situations (i.e., deliver information about the facility to various media outlets).
