Position Title: Director Of Supply Chain And Inventory Performance

Salary: $76,000 - $80,000 per year

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. 
  • Three (3) years of experience leading supply chain management, warehouse management, or distribution, inventory control functions, which must include also having lead a full-cycle implementation (design, development, delivery, maintenance, etc.) of a new supply chain, warehouse, and/or inventory management system.
  • One (1) year of demonstrated people management experience.
  • Vendor assessment and selection of SaaS (Software as a Service) or a system/application is preferred.
  • Financial analysis related to pricing strategies and supply chain analytics is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Position Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Performance reports to the Deputy Executive Director and manages the entire supply chain and inventory function for all four Kane Community Living Centers. The incumbent in this position oversees inventory levels, optimizes stock control processes, and supports procurement and logistics operations across multiple Kane cost centers. To be effective in this role, the incumbent must possess a strong understanding of supply chain management, data analytics, and warehouse technology systems to ensure efficient inventory flow and accurate reporting. The Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Performance plays a critical role in maintaining optimal stock levels, reducing costs, and improving overall supply chain performance. This vacancy is located at the Glen Hazel facility, but travel will be required to other Kane locations in McKeesport, Scott and Ross Townships.

Duties:

Supply and Inventory Management


  • Utilizing and modeling supply chain best practices, leads, guides, and trains subordinate Material Management Managers in each of the four Kane centers.
  • Consults with Executive Leadership on new vendor systems implementation assessment and selection as necessary.
  • Ensures proper ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution of products and supplies, that stock levels meet operational needs while minimizing shortages or excesses, proper tracking of inventory levels and maintenance of accurate records using inventory management software and other systems.
  • Coordinates with procurement, sales, and other departments to forecast future inventory needs and prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Investigates discrepancies, implements loss mitigation strategies, and maintains compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Supports supply chain efficiency by optimizing storage, organizing stock, and ensuring the timely delivery of priority items.
  • Conducts data mining and analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and support demand planning initiatives.
  • Performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies or stock shortages to implement process improvements.
  • Collaborates with procurement teams on sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • Implements or executes procurement processes, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiations. 
  • Utilizes data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau to create insightful reports for management decision-making.
  • Implements inventory control measures including cycle counting, stock audits, and stock rotation practices.
  • Supports category management, pricing strategies, and merchandising efforts through detailed analysis.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives related to inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Identifies and disposes of obsolete or damaged inventory in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and company policies.


General


  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
  • Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor, administrator and/or abuse coordinator as necessary. Protects residents from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.  


Performs any/all other duties as requested or required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Logistics operations including shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, Third-Party Logistics (3PL) coordination, and materials handling.
  • Procurement best practices and processes, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • Financial analysis related to pricing strategies and supply chain management.

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Inventory management software and database systems.
  • Data analysis, data analytics tools, and financial modeling.
  • Implementing and maintaining warehouse management systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP). 

Ability to:

  • Direct, lead, and implement the supply and inventory function, both as a technical and process subject matter expert as well as a people manager.
  • Perform root cause analysis, assess, and investigate inventory trends and discrepancies. Solve and mitigate related problems. Render sound judgment and decisive decisions.
  • Implement continuous process improvements based on efficient and effective analysis and problem-solving measures.
  • Maintain ample inventory and controls, accurate records, and orderly storage using organizational and finely-tuned attention to detail skills.
  • Interact and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate adept interpersonal and customer service excellence with internal teams and clients.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, often in warehouse or office settings, all within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in inventory management, with senior roles requiring leadership or mid-level management experience.
  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect. Promotes and protects all residents’ rights.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Work in the Glen Hazel facility, with required travel to other Kane facilities locations in McKeesport, Scott and Ross Townships as necessary/needed.

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
