Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and two (2) years of experience working at a golf course, to include one year of managing or supervising staff. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Must possess PA Child Abuse and FBI clearances prior to appointment.
Must possess CPR and AED training certification prior to appointment.

Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Golf Course Facility Manager of the Allegheny County Department of Parks, The Golf Course Facility Assistant Manager position is responsible for assisting and directing all operations at the golf course(s) for the evening/night and weekend shifts and/or in the absence of the Manager. This position is located at South Park.
Overview:

The Parks system encompasses a variety of activities and amenities including three golf courses: one nine and two eighteen-hole, three wave pools, one swimming pool, ski slopes, snow tubing, two ice rinks, and over 400 rental facilities. The County Parks System strives to be one of the top amenities in the County, by retaining and attracting residents and improving the overall quality of life for our region.
Duties:
- Supports the Golf Course Manager in all operations and duties of the facility; assists Manager, as requested, in hiring activities and scheduling staff appropriately.
- Oversees, trains, and instructs evening/night and weekend shift staff.
- Organizes and coordinates golf leagues and outings, and special events as necessary.
- Enforces rules and regulations to ensure a safe recreation environment for patrons of the facility.
- Inspects golf course and facility to ensure proper operating and playing conditions and reports any concerns to the Manager.
- Accounts for all revenue received and ensures daily deposits are made and assists in record keeping and preparation of financial and attendance reports.
- Promotes favorable public relations and instructs employees in the application of tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.
- Reports all service or maintenance requests to the Manager.
- Ensures golf carts are cleaned and safe for operation and keeps inventory of needed supplies and materials.
- Secures facility at the end of each day.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- The game of golf and its operations.
- Activenet software is preferrable.
- Cash handling policies.
Skill in:
- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Point-of-sale (POS) and Tee Time Software.
Ability to:
- Effectively manage and supervise direct reports.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Provide comprehensive customer service in a calm and professional manner.
- Operate the point-of-sale and digital time clock systems.
