Position Title: Recreation and Concession Facility Manager

Salary: $44,133.44 Annually

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma AND One (1) year of recreation facility management.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.  

The following certification are preferred prior to hiring and required at the time of hire:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances

The following certification are preferred prior to hiring and required to be obtained within six (6) months of hire date:

  • CPR and First Aid
  • ServSafe Manager
  • ServSafe Food Handler
  • Responsible Alcohol Management Procedures (RAMP) Manager

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Deputy Directors and Recreation Supervisors of Parks, this position is responsible for the preparation, operation, and evaluation of the recreation facilities within their region. The candidate will specifically be overseeing the pool, ice rink, golf course, and their concessions. This position is located in the Southern Region and is responsible for the preparation, operation, and evaluation of the regional recreation facilities that are assigned.



Overview:

The Parks system encompasses a variety of activities and amenities in the County, by retaining and attracting residents and improving the overall quality of life for our region.


Duties:

People Management:

  • Oversees and manages seasonal facilities (Ice Rink, Pool, and Golf Course), concession stands, programs, and events within the respective park.
  • Oversees seasonal employees assigned to the respective park.
  • Assists in hiring, processing, and training of seasonal employees for work in various park facilities.
  • Assist other park supervisors and staff with training on Active Network.
  • Trains seasonal employees in the duties and responsibilities of their positions.

Miscellaneous Management:

  • Strategically works variable hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, as well as work on-site during programs and events to ensure success and safety.
  • Track inventory of product including concessions and other resources as needed.
  • Place orders for concession food and product to ensure the facilities are able to operate at full capacity and on an emergency basis as needed.
  • Performs cash handling and inventory audits.
  • Prepares facilities for opening/closing of the respective seasons and conducts walkthroughs with appropriate staff.
  • Assists in ensuring facilities are in compliance with regulations.
  • Reports all service or maintenance requests to the Regional Recreation Supervisor.
  • Inspects facilities to ensure proper operating and conditions and reports any concerns to the Regional Recreation Supervisor.
  • Performs related work as assigned by supervisor or directors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Emergency procedures, including first aid administration and CPR

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Point-of-sale, Tee Time, and Recreation Software(s)
  • Staff Management and Training

Ability to:

  • Supervising employees engaged in tasks required for the operation of the facilities
  • Communicate professionally, orally, and in writing
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Demonstrate reliability and dependability in the workplace
  • Coordinate with office personnel assigned to each office
  • Solve problems that arise within the authority given
  • Develop team leadership and management skills
  • Work variable hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
