Position Title: Accounting Manager - Revenue

Salary: $90,000.0 - $100,000.00 commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration AND three (3) years of revenue cycle management experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility, to include two (2) years of experience managing staff.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Kane Community Living Centers, this position coordinates and manages operations of the four Business Offices, Central Accounts Receivable, and Billing Departments of Kane Community Living Centers. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with all applicable Federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing long-term care facilities. 



Overview:


Duties:

  • Supervises, assigns, schedules, evaluates, and directs the work of the Revenue Department staff (i.e., Business Office, Accounts Receivable, and Billing Departments).
  • Review and reconcile fiscal data in Matrix and JDE accounting systems.
  • Implements, prepares, reviews, and distributes periodic Revenue Department financial and management reports; maintains entries prepared by Revenue Department staff.
  • Consults with regulatory agencies at the local, state, and Federal levels regarding regulations pertaining to revenue collection and disbursement.
  • Ensures the Resident Fund Management system and account closure policies comply with regulations.
  • Reviews and reconciles billings, general ledger, cash receipts, admissions, discharges, control files, and journal entries monthly.
  • Monitors AR Aging schedules, revenue benchmarks, and collection procedures; recommends adjustments and write-offs to the Deputy Director.
  • Assists auditors from relevant government agencies (such as Auditor General, County Controller, Medicaid, UMR, etc.) and reviews and approves applicable Plans of Correction
  • Reviews HMP and other revenue contracts; assures that Revenue Department procedures are in place to comply with these agreements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to finance and accounting.
  • Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Matrix or similar electronic medical records system.

Ability to:

  • Read and interpret financial records and reports.
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, and policies and procedures of the Kane Community Living Centers.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, employees, applicants, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
