Position Title: Call Center Clerk

Salary: $18.0291 per hour

Minimum Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent AND one (1) year of basic clerical experience to include customer service and data entry.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Call Center Supervisor, the Call Center Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties with an emphasis on providing strong customer service via telephone. 



Overview:


Duties:

  • Fields all incoming phone calls and directs inquiries appropriately.
  • Utilizes GovQA Public Records (Freedom of Information Act software.)
  • Proofreads and verifies data.
  • Enters data electronically.
  • Maintains files.
  • Interfaces with various divisions of Administrative Services and other County departments as needed.
  • Operates standard office equipment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Basic clerical function including operating office equipment.
  • Principles and practices of customer service.
  • Call center policies and procedures.
  • Document management or integrated assessment systems knowledge is preferred.

Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic computer operations.

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing.
  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Maintain accurate files and ledgers.
  • Answer phone calls for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to learn multi-line telephony systems.

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
