Minimum Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent AND three (3) months of experience as a general laborer or comparable experience in an institutional setting.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Environmental Service Manager, the incumbent performs light and heavy manual labor tasks in the general cleanliness and maintenance of the grounds and facilities at the Kane Community Living Centers. Work is performed in accordance with Federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility.
Overview:
Duties:
- Cuts hedges and grass, seeds lawns and flowerbeds, maintains grounds and provides general care for trees, bushes and shrubs including mulching, watering, trimming and pruning.
- Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lots and other areas by use of shovels or power equipment; salts walkways and parking lots.
- Removes litter from grounds, parking lots and other areas; hauls garbage and empties trash containers.
- Digs holes and trenches with pick and shovel.
- Performs general material handling.
- Performs general clean up duties as directed.
- Operates power washer to maintain presentation of grounds and buildings.
- Assists in servicing, maintaining and making minor repairs to equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers and weed eaters.
- Ensures that work or assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times.
- Assists others in lifting heavy equipment or supplies as directed or requested.
- Performs related duties as assigned or directed by the Environmental Services Manager.

Residency:
Allegheny County within 1 year.
