Salary:
$60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year commensurate with relevant experience

Minimum Requirements:
- A Law Degree from an accredited law school AND an active license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- One (1) year of legal representation experience involving social work related issues or Juvenile Court dependency matters is preferred.

Duties:
- Provides legal counsel and advice to guide the County Human Services Department – and in particular the Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF), the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) in their actions and activities, including legal research and preparation of legal opinions.
- Provides legal advice and support to the County Human Services Department in all relevant matters, including juvenile delinquency proceedings, adult family custody proceedings, protection from abuse proceedings, and adult criminal proceedings.
- Argues the County's position in State appellate courts.
- Litigates dependency hearings in the Family Division of the Court of Common Pleas on behalf of the Office of Children Youth and Families.
- Represents the Office of Children Youth and Families in review hearings in dependency cases before Family Division hearing officers.
- Attends hearings before various agencies such as the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
- Provides legal services in all matters concerning CYF, such as attending meetings, reviewing correspondence, redacting records, and analyzing contracts.
- Performs other related duties as required or requested.
