Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or its equivalent AND two (2) years of institutional or commercial building maintenance experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the incumbent supervises the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with Federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing long-term care facilities, and assures that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
Overview:
Duties:
- Supervises the day-to-day housekeeping functions, monitors work assignments, coordinates assignments with nursing staff, and develops work and vacation schedules.
- Recommends the purchase of equipment and supplies to the Environmental Services Manager.
- Monitors and orders supplies through materials management and recommends payment of all associated contracted services.
- Trains personnel in proper techniques of mixing chemicals, cleaning disinfectants and solutions, cleaning methods, and the use of equipment.
- Assures that containers of chemicals, cleaning agents, etc. are properly labeled and stored and that the required MSDSs are properly affixed and filed.
- Conducts performance evaluations in accordance with established policies and procedures; ensures that discipline is administered fairly.
- Demonstrates new products, cleaning methods, and cleaning techniques to staff.
- Oversees housekeeping practices to ensure that work is done safely and efficiently, that protective equipment is used when needed, and that equipment is cleaned and stored properly at the end of the shift.
- Performs related tasks and duties as assigned or directed by the Environmental Services Manager.

- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms and nursing units for sanitation, order, safety, and the proper performance of assigned duties.
- Communicate information concerning a resident’s condition.
