Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

 

A current, valid PA Driver’s License is required. Travel to various sites within Allegheny County will be required. Act 33/34 Clearances are required prior to appointment.

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the marketing team and campaign initiatives by coordinating with departments to identify their needs, conducting market research, executing marketing plans, analyzing performance, and developing content.



Overview:

The Office of Marketing & Special Events raises public awareness of County services, projects, events, activities, and initiatives through proactive marketing, advertising, and social media efforts. The Division is responsible for producing a wide array of high-quality cultural, artistic, and special events to enhance the quality of life in Allegheny County.


Duties:

  • Assists in the creation and implementation of content for a variety of marketing materials, including email newsletters, brochures, web, and social media to promote events and programs.
  • Coordinates daily administrative functions related to marketing and promotions including preparing, executing, and monitoring contracts and agreements, preparing purchase orders, distributing invoices for payment, organizing and distributing reports, monitoring requests, and scheduling meetings.
  • Collaborates with various teams and departments to develop and implement marketing plans for promotion of events, services, and programs.
  • Analyzes marketing efforts to create reports using website and social media analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Hootsuite.
  • Monitors marketing trends and conducts market research to assist in the creation of design, social media content, and video.
  • Leads marketing projects to maintain timelines and budgets.
  • Performs other related work as requested. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Project management.
  • Marketing, advertising and public relations.



Skill in:

  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Social media platforms, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Marketing analytics software. 

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Work independently.
  • Think analytically and creatively.
  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in the workplace.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other county departments and external businesses and organizations.
  • Conduct research on target audiences to better create materials and that is logical and dignified for the people or topic.
  • Must work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Represent the County in a professional manner.
  • Travel to various locations within Allegheny County as required. 

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
