Position Title: Sponsorship and Fundraising Specialist

Salary: $50,000- $55,000 per year

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of professional experience in fundraising or donor relations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Evening and weekend hours are required.


A current, valid PA Driver’s License is required. Travel to various sites within Allegheny County will be required. Act 33/34 Clearances are required prior to appointment.

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Special Events Manager, the Fundraising and Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for identifying and facilitating donations, sponsorships, and partnerships to enhance events and programming, particularly serving the vulnerable populations of Allegheny County. Evening and weekend hours and travel to various sites within Allegheny County are required.



Overview:

The Office of Marketing & Special Events raises public awareness of County services, projects, events, activities and initiatives through proactive marketing, advertising, and social media efforts. The Division is responsible for producing a wide array of high-quality cultural, artistic and special events to enhance the quality of life in Allegheny County.


Duties:

  • Develop and implement a short and long-term sponsorship and fundraising plan to meet goals and objectives.
  • Research, identify, and approach potential sponsors, donors, and community partners to secure sponsorships as well as donations and in-kind support for events and initiatives serving vulnerable populations, particularly children and seniors.
  • Regularly communicate with donors and sponsors through meetings, phone calls, and written correspondence to keep them informed of progress, provide related materials such as promotional toolkits, and express gratitude for their support.
  • Develop proposals and solicitation strategies tailored to the event or donor.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers and donor participation at events and donation drives.
  • Propose new events, activities, or enhancements that could drive sponsorship and fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Special Events team to plan and develop events that raise funds or donations for vulnerable individuals.
  • Prepare reports and evaluate the success of fundraising and donation efforts.
  • Manage gift processing and donor acknowledgement, the donor database, and financial reporting, as well as any other accompanying information systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM).

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
