Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in IT systems administration to include system implementation and support and maintenance, or
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related degree AND six (6) years of experience in IT systems administration to include system implementation and support and maintenance, or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the Deputy Director, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and support of all DCR systems across Civil/Family, Wills/Orphans’ Court and Criminal Division. The Systems Administrator is also responsible for server/desktop/network hardware, software installation testing and training, troubleshooting maintenance and repairs of system and equipment. Monitoring systems health, troubleshooting and system support for the DCR servers and applications.

Duties:
- Manages and maintains Oracle Solaris and Windows server environments.
- Monitors system performance to ensure availability, reliability and security; performs routine maintenance, patching and system updates.
- Manages off-site data center operations including physical hardware, cabling and environmental monitoring.
- Implements and enforces security best practices and performs regular audits.
- Investigates and responds to security incidents as required.
- Collaborates with internal teams to align IT solutions with business goals; collaborates with external agencies, vendors, and consultants as needed.
- Assists with procurement planning, vendor management, and compliance efforts.
- Supports and tests new software and hardware installations; provides training and support to end users as needed.
- Diagnoses and resolves system-related issues.
- Recommends and implements improvements to system infrastructure.
- Supports cloud migration strategies and hybrid environment integration.
- Mentors and assists Assistant System Administrators in hardware/software problem diagnosis.
- Provides technical support to staff for hardware, software and infrastructure issues.
- Performs maintenance and compliance checklists daily such as system event logs, backup verifications, patch status, application process status and other checklists; prepares reports, maintains logs, and tracks system changes.
- Maintains comprehensive system documentation and user guides; prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations, system topology, operational procedures and software/hardware inventory.
- Assists in establishing, maintaining and monitoring availability of servers, infrastructure devices and connectivity.
- Supports the installation, configuration, troubleshooting the maintenance of workstations, server operating systems and network devices as required.
- Sets up workstations, equipment, software, and performs or schedules maintenance; installs appropriate software and configures new systems as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Solaris patch management
- Windows Server Administration
- Installing certificates on web serves
- Active Directory, Virtual Servers, Databases, and Networking Concepts
- Cybersecurity awareness, including patching, server hardening, and compliance.
- Hybrid cloud environments.
Skill in:
- Microsoft Windows Server, Oracle Solaris Server, and Client Operating Systems.
- Microsoft desktop operating systems and Office products.
- Active Directory, virtual servers, and databases.
- OnBase, MongoDB, or any other document management software.
Ability to:
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with Linux/Oracle Solaris (Unix) server administration, managing LDOMS, configuring network and storage resources, and performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software problems.
- Work under general supervision and in a team environment.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees and support ticket customers in a professional manner.
- Frequently lift and/or move computer equipment or furniture to access computer equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Be available for after-hours work or on-call duties as needed.
