Position Title: Assistant Deputy Director of Operations

Salary: $84,000-$87,628.32

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience in maintenance operations with a working knowledge of maintenance (e.g. HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) to include three (3) years of experience supervising or managing staff, or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable (education may not be substituted for supervisory or management experience).

Prior experience working with employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreements is preferred.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Operations, this position is responsible for planning and executing the County’s facility and building maintenance/operations and repair services, programs, and projects through a force of various trades and groups, supervisors, and other labor categories required to maintain facilities. This position works closely with the various supervisors in planning and scheduling work and is then responsible for executing the assigned work. It involves the execution of operating projects and services. The incumbent will oversee the management, supervision, and assignment of staff and the efficient use of resources.



Overview:


Duties:

  • Manages the work of trades personnel and stationary engineers and evaluates staff performance.
  • Oversees the hiring of staff and all personnel matters associated with various trades and stationary engineers.
  • Develops, plans, and executes maintenance programs associated with the County’s facilities’ equipment inventory.
  • Coordinates all maintenance schedules and efforts across various trades and other departments.
  • Supports the planned deployment of resources for preventative maintenance of the County’s facilities.
  • Participates in the development of the yearly operating budget as it relates to maintenance programs and projects associated with Facilities Management.
  • Optimizes the utilization of all resources (manpower, supplies, materials, equipment, etc.)
  • Collaborates with the Director and Deputy Directors of Facilities Management and assists in developing strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the department.
  • Controls costs and adds value to all related operations.
  • Assures adequate training is provided to all department employees so that they possess the latest technology and principles as it relates to their job duties.
  • Assists in development of and compliance with related trade and labor contracts.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required.
