Position Title: Registrar Technician

Salary: $18.3456 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or its equivalent AND one (1) year of general office experience, including customer service. Applicants with knowledge of the election process are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.  

It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status, and drug/medical examinations as required for the position. The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment.


Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Manager and Supervisor of Voter Registration, the incumbent primarily assists in maintaining the Allegheny County file of Registered Voters.



Overview:


Duties:

  • Maintains district registers of County voters by municipality.
  • Enters data using the S.U.R.E. statewide system.
  • Updates all identity and eligibility data of registered voters.
  • Submits records to polling places during election cycles to record official votes to prove eligibility by verifying the individual’s registration to vote in District Poll Books.
  • Constructs District Poll Books and fills supply suitcases with election materials.
  • Performs reconciliations on lists of Absentee Voters.
  • Assists in the verification of votes at each election.
  • Performs other elections-related duties as assigned.
