Standing Committees: Chair: Appointment Review Member: Assessment Practices, Government Reform, Information Technology and Process Improvement, Public Safety Mike Embrescia, 46, is an executive leader, and co-owner at Carnegie Robotics – one of the nation’s earliest, and largest robotics companies. He oversees corporate growth, partnerships, and helps guide the strategic direction of the renowned company. His leadership helped reshape the company's sales and growth strategy, fostering new relationships with top commercial OEMs, defense contractors, and various groups within the U.S. Department of Defense.
Prior to Carnegie Robotics, Embrescia served in various leadership roles in both technology and commercial real estate. Notably, Embrescia served as Executive Director of the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) Pittsburgh, one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate trade associations. In 2013, he founded and led a tech startup – and knows firsthand the struggles of creating and operating a small business.
In 2020, he served as Campaign Manager for PA State Senator Devlin Robinson (37th District), where the team realized a massive (22 point) come-from-behind victory to unseat an incumbent.
In 2023, Embrescia was the Republican candidate for Allegheny County Council-District 5 (Dormont, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park & Upper St. Clair). Despite losing the election, Embrescia instantly pledged support for his opponent, and continued his positive stewardship in the community.
Mike Embrescia brings many talents to County Council, including strengths in real estate development, business creation, and company management. He understands the value of engaging stakeholders and collaborating with private businesses, foundations, funders, universities, politicians, and most importantly, the citizens.
Mike Embrescia’s energy and enthusiasm helps inspire his teams and stakeholders – both to be bold – and to always do the right thing.
Embrescia graduated Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2002, and went on to achieve his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Duquesne University in 2008. At Duquesne, he was one of the first graduates of Duquesne’s world-renowned “MBA in Sustainability”.
Embrescia resides with his wife and two young daughters in Mt. Lebanon PA. He proudly participates in several non-profit groups; including the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (Board of Trustee), the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust (Circles Board), Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, PA Society, and many more. |
