Formerly Juvenile Detention Board of Managers. Established by statute under the second class County code, 1933. The Board "shall provide a house for the reception of children…keep (it) in repair… and fix and furnish said house…(to) be suitable for the care of children…supervise and oversee the management of said house" This Board also selects Administrator, approves annual budget, makes known written policies and appraises quality of services. Total of Ten (10) members. Controller and Chief Executive serve for the duration of their terms. Five (5) members appointed by the Chief Executive, three (3) citizens appointed by the President Judge. Members serve three (3) year terms. Alternative contact: William T.
