Council Member Jordan Botta was appointed to the Allegheny County Council District 13 seat that was vacated by David Bonaroti. District 13 includes Pittsburgh’s North Side, Downtown, much of Uptown, and stretches north through the Strip District and Lawrenceville and much of Morningside. It also includes Bellevue and some of Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods south of the Monongahela River.

A proud Pittsburgh native and longtime LGBTQ+ advocate, Jordan steps into this new role with a vision shaped by years of community organizing, policy advocacy, and a deep connection to the neighborhoods he now represents. Jordan has made clear that his agenda centers on the same values he’s long championed: affordable housing, economic justice, and government transparency. He believes these are many lived priorities for many in Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans folks, BIPOC queer people, and working-class residents.

His professional background is steeped in LGBTQ+ advocacy. Jordan is currently the executive director of the Three Rivers Business Alliance, a chamber of commerce supporting LGBTQIA+ business owners and professionals in Western Pennsylvania that provides LGBTQIA+ business owners and professionals in the Pittsburgh region with assistance and resources. He also previously served as vice chair of Proud Haven, which supports LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
